Probably not a very good explanation if you haven't experienced that but close. Just a matter of getting use to it and it does allow the use of special scales that the Annotation bar didn't have.Ī much bigger problem, to me anyway, is when in Model Space and zooming in very tight, the joint that is being looked at zooms off the screen and it's almost impossible to pull it back into view.just keeps jumping above view or below view. I think that 'xp' command was to make it work more like the older (and maybe the new) Acad programs. It seemed easier, and much more logical the way it was. I have no idea why they changed the print scaling mechanism. The "new" way of setting the scale is shown in this new link: The Webinar that I pointed to above is now only partly correct. Clear Enable heads-up display to prevent the toolbar. Do one of the following: Click Enable heads-up display to show the toolbar automatically when you select entities. In the dialog box, expand User Preferences > Drafting Options > Heads-Up Display. Haven't used them (neither has anyone else as far as I know -) ).Well, it appears that DraftSight 2017 has changed the way print scaling is implemented. This toolbox is called the Heads Up Display Toolbox. I know that files with attachments created in GstarCAD will instantly lock up when opened in BricsCAD, so compatibility is not perfect between the two it's a shame because each program's features compliment one-another's quite well.Ĭorel CAD also has dynamic blocks, and I think one other CAD. I've so far had success using blocks created in GstarCAD in BricsCAD, but would again have to caution that I've only done limited testing. GstarCAD also includes what is basically the same functionality as AutoCAD LT's block editor. You can "stick it" to AutoCAD by actually taking advantage of their subscription model and leasing the program for just a month, or whatever amount of time it takes you to create all your blocks. There are work-arounds for BricsCAD's lack of dynamic blocks: Remember that AutoCAD LT includes all dynamic block creation functionality (it just doesn't include constraints). this would remove one of BricsCAD's best strengths compared to many of it's competitors. Doing anything beyond AutoCAD's capabilities might, unfortunately, create compatibility issues between it and BricsCAD. And if you ever get into LISP and using it to manipulate the dynamic block parameters, holy cow! Since many of AutoCAD's competitors are going the "Dynamic" route, compatibility between programs will dictate that this is the most ideal approach. And they are far more stable (less crashes) than parametric blocks. This concept is similar to the Cartesian Coordinate System in AutoCAD explained here.
DRAFTSIGHT FORUMS PC
The PC is WIn7 64bit and exactly the same as a second machine. Draftsight has encountered a problem and needs to close.
DRAFTSIGHT FORUMS DRIVERS
Ive removed and done clean install, upgraded and downgraded drivers but still get the odd following message when working on docs. The drawing space can be thought of as a 2D planes (while drawing in 2D) where every location has unique coordinates with the form (x,y). Does anybody still have issues with Draftsight randomly crashing.

Grips are right on the block where the user's focus actually is. Start using Draftsight in 10 simple steps. In a previous promotional video, a BricsCAD rep even recommends "getting ahold" of a copy of AutoCAD to create your blocks (prior to demonstrating BricsCAD's ability to use those blocks).ĭynamic blocks with actions are far quicker to use, especially for more 'casual' users. I have to test it out more before I can say for sure though (and for the record I avoid constraints in AutoCAD blocks).
DRAFTSIGHT FORUMS FREE
CAD Forum - CAD/BIM Library of free blocks - hose - free CAD blocks and. I think it recognizes Action Parameters, Custom User Parameters and constraints, and is reasonably stable. It is the native format for several CAD packages including DraftSight, AutoCAD. It does seem to have good stable support for blocks made in AutoCAD however. Blocks in BricsCAD have simply fallen behind.

More often than not these are people selling "services" and not people who do production work on a regular basis. Many of these people touting the parametric blocks don't actually use them (or BricsCAD) on a day to day basis. Part of the reason I bought BricsCAD was with how they advertised their parametric features. I have to chime in here: BricsCAD's parametric blocks aren't that great, especially when it comes to inserting new block instances and modifying existing instances of them.
